Before we get into this subject: first, and foremost, always search before posting your question. Your question may have already been posted and answered - searcing can help you save loads of time and effort. So, you still need to write a post asking for help? Firstly, you need to make sure that it stands out to those who may be looking to help:

  • Post title: Only use terms relevant to the issue or question, avoid using words such as "help", "please", "urgent", "hello...".
A good title would be one that includes an actual error message/code, as opposed to one that just says "I need help with an error".
  • Post body: This is where you describe the issue in more detail. Make sure you mention:
What you are trying to do
What is preventing you from achieving it
What (if anything) you have already tried to do to resolve this issue
Any technical info, if possibly relevant to the issue - e.g. you're using an Operating System on your device that's 15 years old or nobody's heard of

General Tips

  • Keep it short
  • Break up your text into paragraphs - nobody's going to read a 10-line wall of text
  • Be courteous - use the 'Thanks' button and let others know when an issue has been resolved
